Before you continue reading below, we ask our donors why they decided to donate to this cause while they're checking out. The following was stated by a donor very recently and it really touched us. We'd like to share it with you as a reminder to ourselves and to you.

"Our wealth isn’t our wealth, it is what Allah has blessed us with, and it is also a test from Allah to see what we do with it: help others in need for the sake of Allah or use it on ourselves who are already privileged. This world is verily a journey of tests, circulation of wealth is necessary because at the end of the day it is what Allah has blessed us with and could be taken back at anytime. It is not our wealth to be proud over, and we should be charitable by helping those in need"
- Warisha (USA)

Thank you Warisha and everyone else who are supporting this noble cause of helping innocent children that are being tested with Cancer and who you can help save right now by donating.

It costs £3,000 to cover the full treatment of a child with cancer. May Allah bless you if you can donate this or any amount which you can afford. Remember that it's the end of the year so put your best foot forward to give hope to these beautiful children.

The Indus Hospital is proud to be a member of the St. Jude Global Alliance which has seen us collaborate on research projects and learn new skills.

In recognition of our efforts in Pediatric Cancer and blood disorders in children, The Indus Hospital has been awarded a certificate of appreciation from St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Cancer knows no age.

Imagine your child, or your nephew, or your niece falls sick. You take them to the nearest hospital and the doctor tells you they have cancer, but you are unable to afford the cost of treatment.

Can you imagine selling everything you have to afford medical treatment for your children? Alhamdulillah, we have the National Health Service here in the UK, but here's a staggering fact:

Over 50% of Pakistan, a country that has 220+ million people, do not have access to basic primary health care. That's over 100 million people.

And here's another staggering fact:
Around 8,000 children in Pakistan under the age of 18 are diagnosed with cancer every year. That’s 8,000 young lives affected; 8,000 mothers praying they don’t have to bury their child.

How many children will you help save today?

21% of the population is below the poverty line: Access to quality healthcare is a luxury middle and lower class families can’t afford. The only way out is either by selling everything they have to afford the treatments or simply leave their loved ones to give in to the illness.

Could you imagine the helplessness these families experience? Affordable healthcare is a basic human right.

        What is childhood cancer?

Childhood cancer (also called pediatric cancer) typically refers to a cancer that is found in children and teens, and sometimes young adults. It is not just one disease. There are many types, which can be found in different places throughout the body.
The most common cancer in children is leukemia, a type of blood cancer. Cancer can also occur in organs and tissues such as the lymph nodes (lymphoma), nervous system (brain tumors) and muscles, bone and skin (solid tumors).

        Does cancer treatment
        save lives?

Cancer treatments do in fact regularly save lives. However, one of the challenges of a cancer diagnosis is the need for continued treatment making your support all the more necessary for those who have nowhere to turn.

        Is my donation Zakat eligible?

Yes! Approximately 70% of our recipients are Zakat Eligible.

        What is the average
        cost of cancer treatment?

You can cover the entire treatment for a child for £3000 GBP!

How is my Zakat money spent? Who is it spent on?

The Zakat donations that we receive from our donors are distributed among Zakat eligible patients for whichever treatment they are receiving from Indus Health Network facilities.

What are your guidelines for distributing Zakat Donations?

The Indus Hospital provides quality care without any discrimination, free of cost through the support of your Zakat and Donations.

With the help of reputable Sharia Scholars, The Indus Hospital (TIH) has developed a criterion to ascertain if Zakat is applicable to a certain individual. Whenever a patient visits the Indus Hospital, he/she goes through the assessment with TIH’s welfare officer to determine if the patient is eligible for Zakat or not.

Once the recipient of Zakat is identified, their MR number is marked to signify that the patient’s treatment should be supported from Zakat account. The patient is requested to sign a declaration granting the Indus Hospital permission to collect Zakat on their behalf and to use that Zakat to sponsor the treatment of his/her and/or other patients or hospital requirements. Once the patient is discharged, hospital generates an internal bill and sends it to the Zakat Committee for settlement.
