For most of us, these past couple of years have been full of uncertainty in every aspect of our lives, be it work, school, or health. As the world is finally adjusting to the post-covid-19 scenario, some countries like Pakistan are still left behind.

The existing healthcare system in Pakistan is precariously inadequate to meet the needs of the general population – especially the ones struggling to afford the bare minimum. Among this uncertainty, the one thing that serves as a constant light of hope is the exceptional quality healthcare provided by Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) completely free-of-cost.

Every year IHHN benefits more than 5.4 million people, through its countrywide network of 13 hospitals; 4 rehabilitation centers, 4 regional blood centers, and various primary care clinics and public health initiatives across Pakistan.

Your generous contributions have helped us change lives, empower communities and give hope to the ones in desperate need. Make 2022 a year that you help us or continue to help us save countless lives.

Childhood Cancer Patients.

Around 8,000 children in Pakistan under the age of 18 are diagnosed with cancer every year. Due to expensive treatment, most families cannot afford it.

Imagine being a parent and feeling helpless because you can’t afford treatment for your sick child. Every child deserves a chance to live life to the fullest, to grow up, and experience the joys of childhood.

Fortunately, more than 80% of times, childhood cancer is permanently curable if proper treatment is given at an early stage.

Just like treatment to other diseases, Indus Hospital has been leading the way in bringing hope for children suffering with cancer.

One chemotherapy session costs only $25.

Primary Care Patients.

100 million Pakistanis have never visited a doctor. That's half of the country.

Imagine being sick and not being able to visit the doctor.
Imagine not being able to have regular checkups. Imagine living a life with an illness - but never knowing which one, or how to cure it.

This is the sad reality for millions of Pakistanis - and why supporting our Primary Care Program is so important. We're even going to our patients in their homes and have developed Pakistan's first-ever Boat clinic to reach many people who couldn't receive care except by travelling for hours.

You can help us continue to provide this crucial care for FREE.

Mothers & Their Children.

For every 1000 babies that are born in Pakistan, 42 die at birth and, 62 die before their 5th birthday. 75% of these deaths are caused by preventable conditions including complications due to premature birth, labor, delivery, and infections.
  • No prenatal care
  • Lack of adequate options for safe delivery
  • High risk of maternal mortality
  • Other risks associated with births
  • Lack of postpartum care.
At Indus Hospital & Health Network, each child is one of our own. With your support, we make sure to provide the best possible care to every child and mother. But that is not all that we do. We educate mothers about neonatal care, family planning, and nutrition. The impact that we have created so far is all because of you.

Help us save more mothers and babies by providing safe birth treatment.

Physical Rehabilitation Patients.

In Pakistan, more than one million people are physically disabled, which not only affects their mobility but also their social life. Road accidents, natural disasters, and spinal injuries are common reasons for these disabilities.

Unfortunately, in Pakistan, there is a lack of affordable and qualitative rehabilitation facilities, for a major segment of the differently-abled population. Persons with disabilities have to put a temporary halt to their lives, because of the limited opportunities that they receive. But they can have another chance at a normal life with the help of prosthetic devices!

IHHN’s Rehabilitation Centers are the only facility in Pakistan that provides free-of-charge prosthetic limbs, physiotherapy services, mobility aids, and prosthetic devices to help the disabled lead normal lives. In 2020, more than 9,000 patients were provided with prosthetic limbs & orthotic devices.

What is childhood cancer?

Childhood cancer (also called pediatric cancer) typically refers to a cancer that is found in children and teens, and sometimes young adults. It is not just one disease. There are many types, which can be found in different places throughout the body.

The most common cancer in children is leukemia, a type of blood cancer. Cancer can also occur in organs and tissues such as the lymph nodes (lymphoma), nervous system (brain tumors) and muscles, bone and skin (solid tumors).

Does cancer treatment save lives?

Cancer treatments do in fact regularly save lives. However, one of the challenges of a cancer diagnosis is the need for continued treatment making your support all the more necessary for those who have nowhere to turn.

Is my donation Zakat eligible?

Yes! Approximately 70% of our recipients are Zakat Eligible.

What is the average cost of cancer treatment?

You can cover the entire treatment for a child for $5000 USD!

How is my Zakat money spent? Who is it spent on?

The Zakat donations that we receive from our donors are distributed among Zakat eligible patients for whichever treatment they are receiving from Indus Hospital & Health Network facilities.

What are your guidelines for distributing Zakat Donations?

The Indus Hospital provides quality care without any discrimination, FREE of cost through the support of your Zakat and Donations.

With the help of reputable Sharia Scholars, The Indus Hospital (TIH) has developed a criterion to ascertain if Zakat is applicable to a certain individual. Whenever a patient visits the Indus Hospital, he/she goes through the assessment with TIH’s welfare officer to determine if the patient is eligible for Zakat or not.

Once the recipient of Zakat is identified, their MR number is marked to signify that the patient’s treatment should be supported from Zakat account. The patient is requested to sign a declaration granting the Indus Hospital permission to collect Zakat on their behalf and to use that Zakat to sponsor the treatment of his/her and/or other patients or hospital requirements. Once the patient is discharged, hospital generates an internal bill and sends it to the Zakat Committee for settlement.
